In the research project “Ambient Information 4 All”, an accessible and intelligent multimodal information system was developed. The focus of the development was on a target-specific delivery of media assets for different user groups, e.g., children, adults and people with disabilities. This was implemented and evaluated using the example of an app for a zoo.

The key feature of the system is the user-centric and context-sensitive distribution of various content assets. Users receive exactly the information that is relevant and interesting to them via app in a suitable form, based on their personal characteristics. In addition to classic content, 360-degree videos, augmented reality, and 3D-printed objects were also used.

In the talk, these findings will be applied to the vision and development of a multidimensional semantic and context-based next reality system. The dimensions “real” and “digital”, “place” and “time” blur into a hybrid information experience.

The talk will be followed by a discussion on how ubiquitous digital systems can provide a rich UX through usage of XR technologies in everyday life.
