As Technical Director at Demodern, Jan Beutgen is involved in new projects at an early stage, which enables him to shape the technical concept so that it matches the current state of the art in terms of customer specifications. This is one reason why he regularly takes his time to research and test new technologies in order to assess their potential for future projects. Ultimately, this is the basis for developing unique and high-quality experiences that provide users with a new kind of experience.

Veronika KraußResearch Fellow, PhD Candidate

Veronika is a researcher and lecturer at the Institute for Digital Consumption (University of Siegen, University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg) focusing on interaction and design practices beyond the desktop – specifically for augmented and virtual reality. She has worked at the Fraunhofer Institute FIT as a user-centered designer and was a visiting researcher at the University of Michigan. Her ongoing PhD focuses on XR interaction design practices and prototyping approaches of industry practitioners. Further, she is interested in technology acceptance and (un-)ethical design for XR. Gerd Bruder is an Associate Professor for virtual and augmented reality at the University of Central Florida. He held prior positions as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Hamburg (2014-2016) and University of Würzburg (2011-2014). With the founding of TimeRide in 2016 and the opening of the first attraction in Cologne just one year later, Jonas Rothe fulfilled his childhood dream of time travel. His time travel concept allows guests to travel back in time thanks to state-of-the-art VR technology, multi-sensory special effects and elaborately staged interiors. Jonas Rothe subsequently opened further TimeRides in Dresden, Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt am Main. His virtual time travels have been awarded the German Tourism Prize, among others.
