Virtual Reality has gained high relevant in the last years with the appearance of consumer hardware and the entry of big companies like Google, HTC or Facebook into the hardware and software market. Not only in the context of academic research, but also in the context of everyday work contexts, virtual reality is attracting more and more attention. At the same time, the digitization of work is being pushed further and further, raising the question whether and how Virtual Reality plays and can play a role in it. This talk will therefore attempt to provide insights into possible usage scenarios as well as into a possible integration of Virtual Reality into everyday work contexts, while at the same time discussing the emerging challenges from the perspective of VR and HCI research.
