The convergence of Intelligent Virtual Agents (IVAs) with Augmented Reality (AR) technologies has the potential to fundamentally change the way we communicate with virtual humans and each other, interact with our surroundings and digital information, and spend our leisure time. In this presentation, we will look at embodied IVAs in AR, how they transform the way we interact in smart connected environments, how one’s sense of trust influences their effectiveness, and how current limitations in see-through AR displays cause inequities that need to be overcome in the future.
